A workshop using recycled materials to create a unique and beautiful journal.
Journalling, scrapbooking, and doodling provides relaxation, time to reflect, and can improve our mental health. But brand new journals often feel too precious to use and end up gathering dust. In this workshop we will create special journals that will help overcome 'Blank Page Syndrome' by transforming a second-hand book.
We will use old postage envelopes, discarded papers and book pages to create the pages of the journal and bind them into an existing book cover. This 3-hour workshop will offer enough time for each participant to create their own beautiful, unique and individual journal.
What to bring
Bring a secondhand book to transform. This book would ideally be a hardback. You can also bring extra things to decorate the pages with such as:
- paper (e.g. tissue or wrapping paper)
- tickets
- photos
- envelopes
- buttons
- ribbon or other material to use as a fastener
Please note additional materials will be provided in the workshop.
