Discover archival material from the Library’s collections of four women activists who devoted their lives to the causes they believed in, from reproductive rights to anti-nuclear campaigning and the peace movement.
Featured in the display are:
- Naomi Mitchison - novelist, poet and political activist.
- Katrina Howse - artist and anti-nuclear campaigner.
- Elisabeth Seale Carnall - feminist and peace activist.
- Women's International League for Peace and Freedom - feminist peacebuilding organisation.
Be inspired by this material, which illuminates women's political voices and surfaces the hidden histories of these activists. Items on display include journal pages, campaign leaflets and flyers, protest artworks, poetry, printed books and photographs.
The display is exhibited in two small cases outside the General Reading Room. It is freely accessible to Library members and non-members.
