Archive film workshop for those working in community and care settings
Do you work in a facilitation or support role in a community setting, charity or care home? Have you considered using film heritage to enrich your connection with others and aid memory work?
Film heritage can be used in a wide range of activities including reminiscence, local research, intercultural exchange, and creative expression. Come along to share your experiences and learn some new methods.
In this workshop you will learn how to find archive footage that resonates with the people you are in contact with. The workshop will focus on methods for exploring life stories and local heritage.
Areas covered:
- How to arrange a supported visit to Kelvin Hall and what to expect
- Finding footage online (at home or work)
- Reminiscence techniques using film prompts
- Creative and tactile ways to explore life stories and special interests
There will be a chance to meet each other and to ask questions. Light refreshments served.
This workshop is open to anyone age 16+ working in the voluntary, community, charity, and third sectors, whether in a paid or voluntary role.
