There are four computers, on height-adjustable tables, with web access for readers to search the library catalogue and consult digital material. Book rests and cushions are available on request. Hand-held magnifying glasses are also available from the staff desk.
You are welcome to use a laptop in the Maps Reading Room, but you cannot use printers, scanners or ancillary equipment. There are powerpoints available at two of our desks for portable devices.
Self-service photography is available in the Maps Reading Room, or staff can help with orders for copies of maps.
Free WiFi (wireless internet) sessions are available in the Maps Reading Room. Sessions last for either 12 hours or six months, depending on what you need, and you can have as many sessions as you like. You need a password for each session, which you can get at any staff desk. Ask staff for further information and help.
