Scottish explorer, botanist, writer and artist Isobel Wylie Hutchison (1889-1982) provided inspiration for Michael's poem 'One More Open Gate'.
Pedersen says:
‘Surprisingly, ['One More Open Gate'] came out as a conversation-style piece between Isobel and myself. There was so much of her life I was curious about, such an inexorable flow of questions I had for her, that this seemed the only narrative that could rightly exist between the two of us.’
