'Where the Bens Stand Sentinel' is the one of the earliest known colour films made in Scotland. It was filmed around 1932 by Ronnie L Jay.
Combining technological innovation with beautiful landscapes, it documents hillwalking as a popular part of Scottish life in the 1930s.
The film was made on Kodacolor lenticular stock, a format which was only produced for four years from 1928 to 1932.
Instead of introducing colour by dyeing the film, special lenses with coloured filters are used during projection to create colour images.
There are fewer than 10 of these rare films in the Moving Image Archive collection at the National Library of Scotland.
