This English translation of the fairy tales of 1876 has coloured illustrations by the German lithographer Joseph Martin Kronheim.
Here he depicts a scene relating to the fairy tale 'The two brothers'. The huntsman who has adopted the twin brothers takes them to the forest for a shooting trial.
This book featured in the 'Illustrating the Grimms' display at the National Library of Scotland, which ran from 19 September to 18 November 2012
