An example of Sikkim paper from north-east India.
This paper is from Sikkim, India, and is the work of J N Koirala at the Borong-Polok Handmade Paper Unit. It is made from Argali ('Edgeworthia Gardneri'), a quick-growing plant traditionally used for paper and rope-making.
Kulgin Duval and Colin Hamilton brought sheets of Sikkim paper back after one of their long visits to India.
