'The Construction of Roman Letters' by Albrecht Durer (Cambridge: Dunster House, 1924).
Published in a limited edition of 350 copies, this elegant alphabet was designed and printed by the great American typographer Bruce Rogers.
Kulgin Duval and Colin Hamilton perfectly matched book to binder when they commissioned a binding from artist and scribe Joan Rix Tebbutt and binder Sandy Cokerill. Joan designed — and Sandy made — the half-moon tool required to realise the design.
The volume is bound in toned calf vellum tooled in gold, with black Indian in lines and brush lettering.
