The fifth Elizabeth Soutar Bookbinding Competition in 1998 was won by Mark Ramsden of the UK, for his binding of 'The rime of the ancient mariner'.
Full leather binding covered with inlaid Nigerian goatskin, some inlays are hand-coloured. The eye is set with a sapphire. Goatskin onlays, hand-sewn headbands and handmade paper used for the endpapers.
