Prize-winning bookbinding from the 1993 competition [Library shelfmark: Sp.B.30].
The first Elizabeth Soutar Bookbinding Competition in 1993 was won by Paul Charles Delrue from the UK, for his binding of the book: 'Remembering Charles Rennie Mackintosh'.
Sewn on seven tapes, edges coloured with acrylics and waxed. Rust-coloured goatskin covers, laminated panels decorated with dyed circles and tooled back leather insertions. Parchment strips across the boards unite the design to reflect the influence of Charles Rennie Mackintosh's architectural style and colour.
