Aims
- Improving services for users and maximising resources.
- Collaborative action such as sharing skills through workshops and working together on cataloguing.
- Contributing to the building of a co-operative library infrastructure in Scotland.
- Providing mutual support for members.
RBiS is part of SCURL, the Scottish Confederation of University and Research Libraries.
Membership of RBiS is open to all libraries and organisations within Scotland, regardless of size or sector, that have rare book collections in their care. The Forum defines 'rare' book' as any book requiring some special care and / or being unsuitable for inter-library loan.
