Box-making service
The Library offers a box making and enclosure service to other organisations.
We use computerised die-cutting and box-making machines to mass-produce:
- File boxes
- Serial boxes
- Newspaper boxes
- Archival wallets
- Four-flap enclosures.
Items are produced using acid-free and lignin-free archival boxboard and paper, and are also rivet and staple free.

Advisory service
We offer an advisory service to the library community in Scotland and beyond, covering all matters concerning the preservation of library materials.
We can also offer training for staff and volunteers working at other organisations. We do this in collaboration with other organisations, such as National Museums Scotland, and independently.
Please contact us for advice or to ask for help with training.
