The shape of our collections
Head of General Collections Graeme Hawley presents novel approaches to classifying the Library's collections.
He considers ways to perceive the Library's 30 million items, examining structures in nature and cosmology, and drawing parallels with library classification schemes.
Graeme's mash-up of the sublime world of classification and the fantastical world of cosmic naval-gazing may be a conceptual breakthrough in the information science community. Or perhaps simply the consequence of an afternoon in lockdown.
