Ash is researching 'Slavery and Race in the Encyclopaedia Britannica (1768-1860): A Text Mining Approach'. This research will analyse the newly digitised Encyclopaedia Britannica using advanced text and data-mining approaches. Charlotte is studying water histories in the Kaveri river catchment, which is located in South India. Her research uses interdisciplinary methods involving geography, history, and digital humanities with a particular focus on digital mapping and GIS.
